The solution for Cyanobacterial!

Weesp, 10th of June 2011

Because of the early heat, little rain and exotic temperatures, is this year expecting a lot of nuisance of the cyanobacteria!

We have already received many reports about the discovery of blue-green algae in several lakes and waterways in the Netherlands. This is unprecedented for this time of year!

Shocking news is that three dogs were deceased at the end of May after they had come into contact with water contaminated by Cyanobacterial. The dogs were swimming in the IJmeer and since then there is a ban on swimming at the beaches and Muiden Almere. These algal toxins could make people sick.

MOBARN contributes ideas to the solution of toxic cyanobacteriaskimmer2

We have developed a method, allowing to remove the toxic blue-green algae from the water. This method is without the use of of (toxic) chemicals. Two of our machines have been made perfect to address this issue as well, by a number of changes .

On the small machine, called the MOBITRAC, a skimmer is attached (usually meant for removing oil). This skimmer separates the blue algae from the water and catches it on.

At the big machine, MOBI5000, the result is the same only this is achieved in a different way. This machine uses a body / structure which is partially crossing underwater, this construction is a band that normally loads cutted vegetation simply. Through a special cloth algae can now be removed from the water too.
